Let's welcome two new volunteers into the Ventcap SIG . The first one is
Tushar Mehta, from Seattle (just goes to show that if you are really
dedeicated you can be volunteering from anywhere). He is the guy who has
been regular in sending in news clippings and the database on VC firms.
Tushar is a prime example of what I had spoken about in the SIPA Open House
on Jan 31, i.e. find a passion within the SIG which can be of present of
future commercial interest to you and then give it all you have. Tushar not
only contributes regularly to the SIG but has also maintianed a database of
VC firms and news, which he can market for a price to the entrepreneur
community etc. Welcome aboard Tushar and keep up the updates. Also feel free
to communicate with any of the volunteer e-mails listed above and
vice-versa. As emphasized I dislike the word volunteer, let's do it because
there is something in it for us and not feel apologetic about it. That way
the SIG and the community will benefit.
Second to the list is Seema Bhimani, about whom I found out this morning,
also receives the Ventcap list. Seema is an environmental engineer (correct
me if I'm wrong here Seema) and hence will add a new dimension to the
prefessionals among us and also ensure that those start-ups that we do start
are environmently friendly. Welcome aboard Seema. She is a selfless
volunteer for other community organizations such as Netip and I promise to
her that I will not add any more tasks to her already busy schedule.
Also Seema feel free to coominicate with any of the other volunteers above.
Anyway that is it for now. I will have news on the weekend about the
finalization of the Business Plan seminar, perhaps in April .
