Hi Folks,

It's been a almost two months since we communicated. However, a lot
has been happening in the Ventcap Group. Have been out of circulation
for a while, since I quit my job with KPMG, visited India and
Singapore, contemplated not returning to the US and finally returning
to Delloitte & Touche. So this is where I currently work.

Anyway glad to see that the group has been very active. The star has
been Tushar from Seattle. Keep up the solid work Tushar and especially
the last few articles about the folks in Stanford, is awe inspiring,
especially since it is closer to home turf and we can possibily tap
into them. We also have a few more volunteers, who have taken on
result bearing tasks almost as soon as they came on board.

Also here is a preview of the events happening and planned:

a) On August 14th we are having the following presentation by SIPA
members (matter of fact two of them are Ventcap volunteers):

Effective Business Plans by Reza Moazzami ( he has in the past both
been a VC and a fund seeker, whose plan got accepted, so he actually
walks the talk)

Intellectual properties and copyrights and the related issues by
Anirma Gupta ( she is a IP lawyer and has a great deal of experience
in the IP and Non-disclosure issues)

Both Anirma and Reza are also active Ventcap volunteers.

We also have a new SIPA member, Bill Sobey, who will be speaking on
Business Plans that cover both the hardware and software industry and
also plans that cover new markets and products.

b) As a follow up to talks with Susan Mason of Onset Ventures, the
next VC one-on-one is planned for October (tentatively at this stage).

The following events are in the preliminary planning stage and may or
may not happen:

1) A mega VC one-on-one, with more than one VC firm.

2) A VC one-on one with a hardware speciality firm.

Will keep you'll posted as the days go on.

Also in ordere to make the August 14 event more meaningful, the
presenters are encouraging questions before the event, related to the
topics under discussion. So feel free to send any questions to the
Ventcap SIG e-mail address.

Later,

Vivek Kumar
