Hi,

Today India makes a significant qualitative contribution to the IT
industry,
globally. Indian software companies are finding their way to the NASDAQ
and
looking at buying out companies in the US and Europe.

In the year 1997-98, the software industry in India was worth Rs. 100.4
billion (US $ 2.7 billion) and if we add in-house development, that
takes
place at many large commercial/corporate end-users, then the total
software
industry is close to Rs. 150 billion or US $ 3.8 billion, whereas ten
years
back the software industry in India was not worth more than Rs. 500
million
or US $ 15 million.

The C.A.G.R. (Compounded Annual Growth Rate) for the Indian software
industry in the last five years has been 53.84%. The C.A.G.R. for the
software export industry has been 57.44% while that for the domestic
industry has been 48.26%.

Despite these high growth rates, India?s share in the world software
market
is very low, but India still enjoys an advantage over some of the other
nations, which are trying to promote software exports. This is due to
the
fact that India possesses the world?s second largest pool of scientific
manpower which is also English speaking. Coupled with the fact that the
quality of Indian software is extremely good with relatively low cost,
it
provides India a very good opportunity in the world market.

Currently, the software industry in India employs more than 200,000
people
and continues to be amongst the fastest growing sectors in the Indian
economy.

Keeping this growth rate in mind, I would like to represent a venture
capital fund in India for technology companies. I can act as a catalyst
to
promote the fund in India, find out qualifying companies and be a single

point contact for growth oriented IT organizations. Have worked as an
editor of India?s largest circulating weekly IT tabloid, Express
Computer.

Thanking you in anticipation.

With Warm Regards,
Nishith Takia.
