Abstract:

SDF is presenting a Showcase of 16 early stage software and Internet
companies seeking venture capital, angel investments and other
opportunities to make connections in the software industry in Silicon
Valley.

The Showcase companies have the opportunity to preview their company
and product to a by-invitation-only audience of VC, angels, and more
at the VC Preview from 3 to 5pm. Then, when the event opens to the
public (5 to 8pm), there is the opportunity to network and make
valuable connections with technology leaders, entrepreneurs, founders
and CEOs, technologists, industry service providers and more.

****VC Preview (3-5pm)
At the special by-invitation-only VC Preview, a select group
representing 10 to 12 venture capital firms and angel investors will
walk through the Showcase, stopping to see demos of their software or
Internet products and to talk with them about their business.

**** Showcase (5-8pm)
After the VC Preview ends at 5pm, SDF will open its doors until 8pm
for the crowd of 200 plus that gathers to meet and mingle, and check
out the products and demos. Amidst the entrepreneurs, founders and
CEOs, technologists, industry service providers and more that come to
the Showcase, lies the potential to meet potential customers, partners
and advisors. It's become one of the hottest tickets for networking
in the Valley!

****Event Sponsors
The event is sponsored by Apple Computer, with Microsoft, AboveNet,
New Business Strategies and IBM.

2) Then we have Avinash Vaidya, who is in the process of organizing
one-on-one's with two VC firms namely:

Mohr Dovidow Vnetures and Hummer Winblad and Venture . Both have
already confirmed the plans for the one-on-one and now we are in the
process of organizing the logistics.

Superb job Avinash!!!

3) Finally we have the husband and wife team of Suprabha and
Saikat Ghosh. Suprabha is working on teaming up with Dr. Rafiq Dossani
of Stanford and doing joint programs. Great going all!!

Also Suprabha is helping us to pull in more women members into the
Ventcap group, because at this time I think this group is way to male
dominated and I refuse to believe that the subject of Ventcap is
purely male centric.

My thought for today:

SHIPS LOOK GREAT IN THE HARBOUR BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT SHIPS ARE
MEANT FOR. GO FORTH AND VENTURE NOTHING VENTURED NOTHING GAINED AND
NOTHING LOST
