Hi,
A friend of mine (works with Aurther Anderson in India) is visiting the
Silicon Valley from Nov. 29 - Dec. 3. He is interested in meeting people
interested in either raising money or alternatively investing in Indian
startups and subsidiaries. I have included some information about him
and his group. Let me know if anyone on this forum is interested in
meeting him while he is here or if you have questions and like to know
more.
Thanks,
Maddy

Arthur Anderson has a global service line called Corporate Finance, who
advise on M&A and fund raising. We have a specialised Technology
Corporate Finance team in San Jose that is focused on doing M&A and fund
raising for the Technology sector. In India, we have a strong CF team,
from where 3 senior professionals(including me) are now focused on the
IT sector. Our work ranges from helping start-ups access VC funding, to
helping Indian companies do trade sales of their internet products to
large portals, to advising US based companies on doing IPOs in India of
their Indian subsidiaries. We are very well networked into the
entrepreneur market here in India (we are well known on the seminar
circuit) and equally have strong relationships with all VCs based in
India.
There is now a recent trend of US based individuals/angels making
investments in Indian start-ups either directly (like Chandrashekar of
Exodus) or through several funds that have sprung up recently that have
investments from several such angels. My aim is to try and make contact
with people who have interest in investing inIndian start-ups companies,
as I have a strong pipeline of such opportunities that I would like to
show them from time to time. Equally, those who have already made
investments may need help in doing a second round of funding from Indian
VCs where we can play a role.
I have a pretty good understanding of the VC market in India, and would
be happy to meet anyone who would care to know. Also, I would like to
meet any entrepreneur who has raised VC funding in the US just to give
me a better perspective on the process in the US.
