Hi,
We are a (potential) startup in the "looking for funding" phase, with
some key VC and customer discussions in progress. Our team
already consists of strong Mktg., Sales, Recruitment and Prod Dev
skills, with significant prior experience of working together, and
successfully shipping products together.
We're looking for someone to join us as a CTO. It's a key position for
us. The fundamental's of what we are looking for are:
a) Min. of a MSEE or MSCS, from a top flight university, followed by at
least 10 years of hardcore experience in putting together complex
systems. Ph D is nice to have, but not essential.
b) The candidate would have a strong understanding of what is takes to
ship a product, have experience in product planning and close
working experience with Marketing functions. He/she would have hardcore
experience in the product development process, and in
particular, have a detailed and solid understanding of i/o technologies,
at the protocol, hardware and total system level. A solid
understanding of web technologies is also required. These are
essentials. Nice to have's include understanding of OS and Network OS
implications, from the RTOS level to Linux and NT, of these
technologies, and work arounds.
c) Some level of business sense is required; we intend to make money
after all :-)
d) Proven ability to plan the work and work the plan is required. A
proven track record of shipping your design is needed.
e) Need to be able to work with blue-chip OEM's, including Japanese
blue-chips.
Of course, we also need someone who is flexible and can work in a very
diverse environment. (We come from a range of technical, ethnic
and cultural backgrounds)
Additionally, he/she must be willing and able to contribute in every
aspect of our business. Flexibility must also include the willingness
and ability to change plans when needed, and work within the team
decision.
We're planning to locate in S. San Jose - counter commute + light rail,
Caltrain and bus - if that is helpful.
